Inversion- Poet CJ

What would you say if I took you from everything you knew as right and told you it was wrong?
Would you retrace the steps it took to reach here and wonder why it took so long?

What if I told you that you have been watching this all unfold through the wrong eyes?
What if I told you that everything you’ve ever known was composed of lies?

Walk with me while I explain just how dangerous a perspective can be
Listen closely while I detail the ways I found the real me

Unwavering loyalty is a desirable trait that many don’t possess
It’s a trait that can be misused but I digress

I believe that trait should be reserved for those that display the same trait
Simply because it’s so close to the feeling of hate

Within the proper context they could be vice versa
Do you know which one would hurt you?

I’ve felt these emotions in large amounts and the intensity is unparalleled
So I believe that these emotions are nearly one in the same

It’s a twisted mirror being held up to each other
With nothing but itself to blame

To you this may sound like a discursion
To me this is the Inversion
