The Pursuit- Poet CJ

I’ve always had that burning desire deep in my chest
You know what I mean that fire that fuels the best

So I began to ask myself the questions that inspire the greats
I began to take it seriously and shape my fate

To walk the road of a warrior with a hill to climb
To speak words that’ll stand the test of time

See I’ve always loved to refer to myself as the dream catcher
I have to dream while living and not consider what’s after

I have to believe I can achieve what seems like the impossible
Even if the odds say I dream the Improbable

This is when I began to truly understand what it meant to dream out loud
To look down at the doubt with my head in the clouds

Deep in my heart I’m chasing my future self
He has something that means more than wealth

It’s a drive to succeed that can’t be tamed
It’s aiming for the stars with all the growing pains

It’s simply what I call the pursuit
